Hand-Picked for Innovation: Deputy PM Visits Amiga Engineering at Avalon

Amiga Engineering was incredibly honoured to be hand-picked for a visit by Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles during the Avalon Airshow 2025. As a proudly Australian-owned and operated company, it was a significant moment to be recognised on a national stage for our contributions to advanced manufacturing and sovereign capability. The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit reinforced the importance of supporting local innovation and the critical role we play in strengthening Australia’s defence and aerospace industries.

During the event, Amiga Engineering showcased a range of our current and growing capabilities, including metal additive manufacturing in Tungsten, Scalmalloy, Inconel, ballistic titanium, and other high-performance materials. Our team also offered a glimpse into our cutting-edge R&D efforts, subtly highlighting an Australian-designed long-range target drone system as part of our expanding portfolio. A captured moment from the day shows Michael Bourchier and the Deputy Prime Minister holding a miniature scale model, with the full-scale version in the background — a proud visual representation of Australian engineering in action.
