The Advantages of Additive Manufacturing


Whether polymer or metal, Additive Manufacturing allows geometries not possible using conventional manufacturing methods. Conventional manufacturing is often limited to places drills and milling cutters can gain physical access. Additive Manufacturing comes into a league of its own when implemented for internal spars and structures, parts manufactured as an assembly or internal cavities or pockets unseen.
An increasingly essential advantage to layer by layer construction method is that vibration is almost non existent. This allows super thin features, requiring no more effort than solid structures. This is hugely advantageous when the part must transfer heat or needs an internal lattice structure for strength yet light weight.
Here at Amiga we are not limited to manufacturing new parts. Our team has the skill and technology to add to existing components in a similar, or identical metal. This may be desired to increase the integrity or features on an existing part.
